Hello there! 🌻

I’m Rupanshi. I’m an undergraduate student pursuing Computer Science and Engineering at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology. Currently, I’m working as an Outreachy Intern with Fedora. I’ve dabbled in quite a few fields, including but not limited to Backend Development, DevOps, CI/CD, and Server Management. These days I’m exploring the IoT domain, both as a part of my internship project and also cause this is something I have wanted to do for quite some time. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books and learning new recipes (though I absolutely suck at cooking :p)

My core values are hard work, passion, and a just-do-it mentality. I might not always be the smartest person in the room, but I tend to work hard to get what I want.

Getting selected as an Outreachy Intern is probably one of the best things that have happened to me. I used to hear a lot of conversations around GSoC and Outreachy in college, but I always thought I lacked knowledge and skills and found all of it rather intimidating. I was motivated to apply for the summer cohort because I wanted to upskill myself and just put myself out there; plus, I thought it would help get me out of the productivity slump I had had for a very long time.

There’s a very popular quote about how it is outside your comfort zone that the magic happens, and I have only recently started to realize the truth behind it. After the contribution period, I’ve come to love a lot of things outside my comfort zone. It has reignited the spark of learning something new. Needless to say, I’m glad I applied and I’m really happy to be a part of the community.
